Poutine Week In Carman

Poutine Week In Carman

WINNIPEG - Manitobans adore their poutine, and we have entire weeks dedicated to the dish: Winnipeg held La Poutine Week February 1st through 7th, Morden and Winkler held their Poutine Week from April 26th through May 1st, and now Manitobans can get their fix of cheese curds and fries in Carman.

The town of around 3,000 began their first Poutine Week ever today, and officials for the Carman and District Chamber of Commerce say the idea for the event evolved out of their well-favoured and flavoured Burger Week, which took place last September.

The Chamber says five restaurants in town participated in the popular event last year, and the community enjoyed the burgers so much they were craving for more. At least eight restaurants in Carman are participating in Poutine Week, and, although public health orders restrict in-door dining, organizers say they expect lots of takeout orders to be placed.
