Bring Back Band Practice

Bring Back Band Practice

WINNIPEG - Parents in several school divisions want the province to allow wind instruments or provide scientific evidence why they're not letting students play them.

One mom, Sheri-Lynn Skwarchuk, says school sports seem to be treated differently and the lack of band practice is causing mental health issues among kids.

Chief public health officer, Dr. Brent Roussin, says while playing wind instruments and singing can increase the risk of COVID-19 transmission, public health orders don't apply.

However, the Louis Riel and Pembina Trails School Divisions both say they don't plan on letting band practice resume until the provincial officials say so.
