WINNIPEG - Today is the day Ontario starts turning away Manitoba vehicles.
Checkpoints are set up on highways where new COVID-19 travel restrictions are being enforced.
All non-essential travel is prohibited.
Ontario Provincial Police say everyone will have to slow down but not all drivers will be stopped.
Commercial trucks and cars with Ontario license plates will be waived through. People who need to get to work will also be allowed to continue on.
This non-essential travel ban includes Manitobans who own a cottage in Ontario.
