Nurses Take Strike Vote

Nurses Take Strike Vote

WINNIPEG - Without a deal for more than four years, Manitoba nurses are holding a strike vote.

Months of negotiations have failed to secure a new contract.

Darlene Jackson is the president of the nurses' union and she says the main issues are retention and recruitment to deal with the province's nursing shortage.

If nurses vote in favour of strike action, Jackson promises essential COVID-19 care won't be impacted.
