WINNIPEG - A national monument, created to share the experiences of residential school survivors, is being digitized as part of a new online platform.
The Witness Blanket was created by Carey Newman, a First Nations artist and master carver, to recognize the atrocities at residential schools, honour the children and symbolize ongoing reconciliation.
Newman, along with the Canadian Museum for Human Rights and Telus, have developed the platform.
Users can hear video testimony from survivors.
