WINNIPEG - A new tuition-free farm equipment operator course is being offered to off-reserve First Nations people.
Assiniboine Community College in Brandon says the program is sponsored by the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples and was developed to deal with a labour shortage in the agriculture sector.
The 14 week course teaches students about the ag industry, farm safety and how to operate and maintain machines on a farm.
Keystone Agricultural Producers has been helping with the development of the program for several years.
