WINNIPEG - Manitoba has announced a few new measures, as COVID-19 numbers continue to rise.
Starting tomorrow, religious gatherings in the Southern Health Region are limited to 25 people, unless all participants are fully vaccinated or under 12 years of age. This does not include Cartier, Headingley, Macdonald, Niverville-Ritchot, St. Francois Xavier and Tache which fall under Winnipeg's COVID rules because of strong vaccine uptake.
12 to 17 year old Manitobans in the whole province must show proof of at least one shot of a vaccine or a negative test obtained at a pharmacy in order to take part in indoor sports, starting December 5th.
And, finally, upcoming surgeries in Winnipeg scheduled for November 19th or later will be cancelled to free up intensive care space.
Chief public health officer Dr. Brent Roussin says it's frustrating and disappointing to be here again.
