Murder Suspect To Undergo Psychiatric Assessment

Psych Assessment Ordered

WINNIPEG - A Manitoba man, charged with killing his mom and dad and stabbing a former supervisor at a Winnipeg hospital 14 times, has been ordered to undergo a psychiatric assessment.

A judge has granted an application from the Crown for the assessment to determine whether Trevor Farley was suffering from a mental disorder at the time of the attacks in October of 2021 and was not criminally responsible.

Farley is accused of murder in the deaths of his 73 year old parents at their home in New Bothwell.

He is also charged with attempted murder in the stabbing of a nursing supervisor at Seven Oaks Hospital.
