More For School Nourishment

WINNIPEG - The province is adding $1.3 million in support to the Child Nutrition Council of Manitoba for its school nourishment programs.

The new investment brings the total provincial funding this year to $2.5 million.

Education minister Wayne Ewasko says the extra money was a priority in the report of the Manitoba Commission on Kindergarten to Grade 12 Education.

Wendy Bloomfield at the Child Nutrition Council says there's a growing demand for programs like this.
