WINNIPEG - Manitoba will send patients willing to travel for diagnostic and surgical care to more locations outside the province including hospitals in Minnesota, Arizona and California.
The PC government has signed new contracts with the Mayo Clinic and the University of California in San Francisco.
As of late last month, almost 200 patients had received surgeries outside of Manitoba. More will be added to that list later this month.
Dr. Candace Bradshaw, president of Doctors Manitoba, says the contracts speak to the shortage of physicians here.
