Manitoba Legislature Takes Summer Break

Leg Takes Summer Break

WINNIPEG - The Manitoba legislature has taken its summer break.

It was the final sitting for MLAs before the provincial election set for October 3rd.

During the session, the governing Progressive Conservatives passed dozens of bills into law, with the Opposition New Democrats derailing five pieces of legislation.

The campaign will heat up now and is expected to focus on health care, crime, and taxes.

The PCs have been trailing the NDP in opinion polls for over two years.
