WINNIPEG - Manitobans who got AstraZeneca for their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine can now switch to either Pfizer or Moderna for the second dose.
Provincial health officials say there should be at least four weeks between doses, although eight weeks is recommended.
So if you received a first dose of any vaccine on or before April 8th, you can now book an appointment for your second dose.
Dr. Joss Reimer, medical lead of the Vaccine Task Force, says there's no issue mixing and matching vaccines.
She points to a Spanish study which found people who received an MRNA vaccine like Pfizer and Moderna after getting AstraZeneca had a good immune response.
