WINNIPEG, MB – After 11 years together, one of Manitoba’s most successful curling rinks will be parting ways.

In a release sent out by their team on Tuesday, Mike McEwen’s Fort Rouge Curling Club rink has decided to call it quits at the end of the 2017/18 season.

Skip McEwen, third B.J. Neufeld, second Matt Wozniak and lead Denni Neufeld have been together since the 2007-08 season and have enjoyed a great deal of success, including coming within a shot of going to the Pyeongchang Olympics last month. Kevin Koe beat McEwan’s rink 7-6 in the 10th end at the Roar of the Rings Olympic Trials in December.

During their time together, the foursome has represented Manitoba at the Brier twice (2016 and 2017), and booked a berth into the 2018 Brier after defeating Team Jason Gunnlaugson to earn the Wild Card spot at the tournament. They finished the round-robin with a 7-4 record, just missing the cut for the playoffs. They’ve finished atop the World Curling Tour money list four times (2011, 2012, 2014, 2015) and have won six Grand Slam titles.
