Manitoba's Vaccine Plan

WINNIPEG - Health care workers will be the first people in Manitoba to get the COVID-19 vaccine that's just been approved by Health Canada.

Premier Brian Pallister says the first 1,950 doses of the Pfizer shot, enough to immunize about 900 people, will arrive next week.

He hopes to have over 200,000 doses by the end of March so seniors and long-term care home workers can also be vaccinated.

Pallister also confirms federal officials have bumped up by 15 per cent how much of the Moderna vaccine our province will get, almost 76,000 doses instead of 66,000. This vaccine doesn't have to be stored at such cold temperatures so it's easier to transport outside Winnipeg to indigenous communities.
