WINNIPEG - The province’s top Mountie is retiring after more than three decades of service.
RCMP assistant commissioner Jane MacLatchy, the first woman in that role in Manitoba, is stepping down as D Division’s commanding officer after 34 years with Canada’s national police force.
The 57 year old says she plans to spend more time with her husband, children and grandson.
June 3rd will be her final day on the job. MacLatchy’s replacement has not be chosen yet.
