WINNIPEG - According to Doctors Manitoba, the province's backlog of surgeries and other medical procedures is increasing.
The number has grown by about 100 a day over the past several weeks to 152,000. That's one in 10 Manitobans.
DM President Dr. Kristjan Thompson says hundreds of operations and diagnostic appointments have been cancelled during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Later today, the provincial health minister, Audrey Gordon, is expected to announce a plan to deal with the backlog.
