Manitoba's Omicron Wave Has Likely Peaked

Omicron Has Likely Peaked

WINNIPEG - Manitoba's COVID-19 response team says the province is headed in the right direction but the health care system is a long way from normal.

Dr. David Matear says the Omicron peak of the pandemic has probably peaked, with hospital and intensive care admissions down 19 per cent over the last week.

However, according to Matear, just because things seem to be slowing down doesn't mean the system isn't still very busy.

Dr. Matear says ICU numbers remain well above pre-COVID levels.
