WINNIPEG - Premier Heather Stefanson says the province's new lieutenant-governor has a history of advancing important causes like missing and murdered Indigenous women.
Anita Neville was sworn in as Manitoba's 26th LG during a ceremony on Monday at the legislature which included an opera singer, an Indigenous prayer and a choir.
80 year old Neville says she will focus on reconciliation and education during her time as the viceregal representative.
Neville, a former Liberal MP and school board trustee, is the province's first Jewish lieutenant-governor.
