First Snowmobile Fatality

WINNIPEG - Manitoba RCMP say speed and alcohol were both factors in the first deadly snowmobile accident of the winter.

A 57 year old Portage La Prairie man was killed when the sled he was riding hit a row of trees and branches in a field in that community.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Portage Mounties who continue to investigate say the man was wearing a helmet.
