Manitoba Woman Must Pay For Stolen Lottery Tickets

Must Pay For Lottery Tickets

WINNIPEG - A Manitoba judge has ruled a woman accused of stealing lottery tickets for four years while working at a gas station must pay back over $425,000.

Justice Theodor Bock says the case against Cynthia Hallick was overwhelming.

A statement of claim alleged Hallick stole a vast quantity of tickets while working at the station in Dugald.

The station’s owner was notified in 2019 by his accountant that the store was losing money in lottery sales.

A video camera recorded Hallick taking tickets during one of her shifts.
