WINNIPEG - A state of emergency has been declared in a rural municipality near the US border.
The RM of Montcalm, like the rest of southern Manitoba, is bracing for more precipitation from another Colorado Low this weekend, the third in three weeks.
Overland flooding is threatening to isolate the residents of about 16 homes in the RM.
Meanwhile, the province promises to keep Highway 75 at Morris open for as long as possible but it will likely have to be closed at some point this weekend due to high water levels.
A short detour will take traffic around the town.
