MPI Will Cost More

WINNIPEG - Manitoba Public Insurance rates will edge up in the spring.

The Public Utilities Board says Autopac premiums will grow an average of 1.54 per cent on April 1st, although the increase will vary depending on a person's vehicle and driving record.

The PUB says MPI is facing a significant increase in operating costs, mostly due to the addition of more employees.

MPI workforce increased to 2,348 in the budget for fiscal 2023, up more than 20 per cent from before the COVID-19 pandemic.
