Manitoba Prison Guards Reject Contract Offer

Prison Guards Reject Offer

WINNIPEG - Manitoba's prison guards have rejected a proposed new contract.

MGEU president Michelle Gawronsky says the offer didn't address several critical issues, including mental health support, recruitment and retention.

The province's 1,800 correctional officers have been working without a deal since 2019.

The union now plans to file for arbitration.
