Manitoba NDP Meets

WINNIPEG - Manitoba New Democrats will meet in Winnipeg this weekend to debate policy as the party gets ready for next year’s provincial election.

There are proposals to ban private long-term care homes and replacement workers during labour disputes.

There are also calls to expand child care, protect gender expression under the human rights code and provide free public transit in Winnipeg.

Opinion polls since the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 have suggested the NDP has gained in popularity while the governing Progressive Conservatives have dropped.
