WINNIPEG - A woman who shares her residential school stories with kids in Manitoba classrooms hopes people will take part in a moment of silence on Thursday afternoon at 2:15.
Geraldine Shingoose says small gestures like this or wearing an orange shirt can have a powerful impact on survivors.
The time, 2:15, represents the 215 unmarked graves found at the site of a former residential school in Kamloops, BC.
Shingoose says it's important to hear directly from residential school survivors about their experiences.
