Manitoba MLAs Debate Drug Overdoses

MLAs Debate Overdoses

WINNIPEG - The opposition New Democrats in Manitoba says the governing Conservatives need more accurate data on drug overdoses so outreach and recovery can be modernized.

Bernadette Smith, the NDP critic for mental health and addictions, has tabled a private member's bill in the legislature that would change the way the province collects statistics on how people die from an overdose and which drug killed them.

The bill also proposes making the information more accessible.
