WINNIPEG - The Manitoba Metis Federation and the province have signed a memorandum of understanding on education.
Education and early childhood learning minister Wayne Ewasko says his government is committed to developing a strategy to improve educational outcomes.
The MMF, headed by David Chartrand, says creating pathways to education and economic stability helps to lift Red River Metis families out of poverty and create a brighter future.
The agreement commits to develop a long-term strategy including supports for cultural learning, academic success and transition into the workforce or post-secondary education.
