Manitoba Mask Mandate About To Lift

Mask Mandate About To Lift

WINNIPEG - Today is the last day of Manitoba's face mask mandate.

Masks will no longer be mandatory in most public spaces including schools.

Most school divisions are going along with the province on this but at the same time, they are recommending students continue to wear masks.

At Pembina Trails, superintendent Ted Fransen sent out an email asking people to be respectful of the choices others make when it comes to masks. He also encouraged those eligible to get a booster shot of COVID-19 vaccine.

Dr. Kristjan Thompson, president of Doctors Manitoba, says his organization continues to recommend the wearing of masks because as long as COVID is circulating, everything possible should be done to keep it from spreading.
