Manitoba Liberals Want New Stat Holiday

Liberals Want New Stat

WINNIPEG - Manitoba Liberals want September 30th to be a new statutory holiday.

They are calling on the Conservative government to use the date to mark the harm done by residential schools.

Ottawa has passed legislation making the day a federal stat holiday called the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The Liberals have written a former request to reconciliation minister Alan Lagimodiere.
