Manitoba Handing Out Rapid Tests

Rapid Tests Being Handed Out

WINNIPEG - Manitoba has decided to start handing out rapid tests at COVID-19 testing sites.

Health minister Audrey Gordon says making self-administered tests available to Manitobans will help with demand for testing as the new Omicron variant takes hold.

Rapid tests will be given to people who are symptomatic and vaccinated.

There's a backlog of COVID testing in the province with thousands of samples waiting to be analysed.

Dr. Brent Roussin, the province's chief public health officer, says people should consider self-isolating if symptoms develop.
