Manitoba Gives Winnipeg Police $1 Million

Police Get $1 Million

WINNIPEG - The Manitoba government is giving over $1 million to the Winnipeg Police Service.

Justice Minister Kelvin Goertzen says proceeds from the Criminal Property Forfeiture Fund will go towards a variety of crime prevention measures.

That includes buying new technology to help officers analyze hours of video evidence in a matter of minutes.

Some of the money will be used to facilitate a two day trauma-informed training session for 200 members of the force.
