Manitoba Flood Warning Extended

Flood Warning Extended

WINNIPEG - With more rain in the forecast on the weekend, Manitoba has now issued a flood warning for the Assiniboine River from St. Lazare to Griswold.

The Hydrologic Forecast Centre says the Shellmouth Dam is being used to lower the risk of flooding downstream.

Meanwhile, the Red River flood warning from Emerson to Winnipeg continues with the floodway in operation to limit waterlevels, especially through the city.

An overland flood warning is still in effect for southwestern Manitoba between Portage la Prairie and Winnipeg.

A high water advisory has been issued for the Whiteshell lakes area due to recent rain and continuing snowmelt.
