Chiefs Sign Health Care Deal

WINNIPEG - The Southern Chiefs' Organization in Manitoba has signed a deal with the province to create a health authority.

Grand Chief Jerry Daniels says it will launch later this year and include the SCO’s 34 member bands.

The agreement formalizes the commitment of the chiefs to work with the Manitoba and federal governments.

Daniels culturally appropriate primary care, improved mental health services, enhanced elder care, traditional healing and local access will all be important goals.
