Manitoba Asks Ottawa For Nurses

Ottawa Asked For Nurses

WINNIPEG - Manitoba is asking Ottawa for help with COVID-19.

The request has gone out for up to 30 nurses for about six weeks as hospitals continue to struggle through the pandemic.

The extra nurses would increase ICU capacity, while allowing surgeries to go ahead.

Less than a week ago, Doctors Manitoba warned the health care system was on the brink.

Yesterday, the province reported eight deaths and 478 cases of COVID since Friday.
