WINNIPEG - The Opposition NDP says the Conservative government is trying to help it’s chances in the fall election by cutting a second round of affordability cheques to Manitobans.
Everyone with a net family income of less than $175,000 last year will get a payment to help with the high cost of living.
Single people will get $225, while couples will get $375
Premier Heather Stefanson says this is a way to get money out to those in need quickly but the New Democrats say people need help with expenses every month and a onetime payment won't go far.
