Labour Shortages Continue In Manitoba

Labour Shortages Continue

WINNIPEG - Labour shortages in many occupations and sectors will continue to be a significant challenge for Manitoba employers.

The province’s minister of economic development, investment and trade Jeff Wharton made that comment after the release of the Labour Market Outlook through 2026.

Even though the report shows about equal supply and demand overall, Wharton says health care, retail and a few other areas are expected to see the highest demand for workers.

It also predicts 58 per cent of future job openings will require some form of post-secondary education or training.
