WINNIPEG - Former Winnipeg Blue Bomber Obby Khan will seek the Conservative nomination in Fort Whyte.
“I was warmly embraced by this city and province during the six years I played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and have been given so many opportunities to succeed, on and off the field,” said Khan. ”My goal now is to further give back by seeking to serve as a strong voice and community champion for Fort Whyte.”
If Khan becomes the Tory nominee, the small business owner with six restaurants will go up against Willard Reeves for the Liberals and Trudy Schroeder of the NDP.
A byelection must be held in Fort Whyte within 180 days of when Brian Pallister gave up the seat in October.
