WINNIPEG - Manitoba Premier Heather Stefanson says her finance minister’s decision to jump to federal politics won't affect preparations for her government's spring budget.
Cameron Friesen says he will leave cabinet and resign his seat in the legislature in order to seek the Conservative nomination in the federal riding of Portage-Lisgar after the resignation of Candice Bergen.
Stefanson says Friesen will stay on in finance until her promised cabinet shuffle happens.
The shuffle has been in the works since a number of Stefanson's MLAs and ministers announced they will not be running again in the provincial election scheduled for October 3rd.
