Four Inmates Charged in Stony Mountain Murder

WINNIPEG – Four inmates of Stony Mountain Institution have been charged with second-degree murder after an investigation into the death of 25 year-old Adam Kent Monias from Norway House on August 18, 2018.

Monias was seriously assaulted at Stony Mountain on August 16, 2018 and died as a result of his injuries on August 18.

On March 12 and 13, 2019, RCMP Major Crimes Services with the assistance of Stonewall RCMP and Correctional Service Canada arrested four inmates for second degree murder:

– Braiden Moneyas, 22-years-old, from Brandon, MB

– Kane Moar, 21-years-old, from Winnipeg, MB

– Raymond McDonald, 24-years-old, from Winnipeg, MB

– Michael Oksasikewiyin, 25-years-old, from Saskatoon, SK

All four individuals have been charged and remanded back into custody at Stony Mountain Institution and are scheduled to appear in Provincial Court in Winnipeg on March 20, 2019.

RCMP officers from the Stonewall Detachment, along with RCMP Major Crime Services, continue to investigate.
