WINNIPEG - Over 300 Ukrainian refugees have arrived in Winnipeg on a flight from Poland, about 100 of them children.
The people escaping the war with Russia in Ukraine received a warm welcome at Richardson International Airport at about 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
After touching down, the newcomers were taken to the Ukrainian Refugee Reception Centre to get help with their settlement.
Premier Heather Stefanson says all Ukrainian refugees are being welcomed by Manitobans with open hearts, open minds and open arms.
Two more flights are expected to land in Montreal and Halifax by June 2nd.
