WINNIPEG - A big part of the province is essentially closed this morning because the fire risk is so high.
The Manitoba Wildfire Service says the area is north of the Wanipigow River, east of Lake Winnipeg to the Ontario border, including Atikaki Provincial Park, and north to Poplar River.
The region's move to level four includes a fire and travel ban.
Elsewhere, burning permits have been cancelled and no new permits will be issued until conditions improve.
