WINNIPEG - Manitoba’s shortage of beds at personal care homes is getting worse, despite promises by the provincial government to grow the number.
The Conservatives ran on a pledge to create 1,200 new personal care home beds. However, more than six years after taking office, the bed count has actually dropped.
The Opposition NDP continues to go after the PCs for breaking this promise.
Health Minister Audrey Gordon says her government has a very comprehensive strategy when it comes to seniors and it’s working hard to make sure they get the care they need, when they need it.
