Emergency Preparedness Week

WINNIPEG - It's Emergency Preparedness Week, a time when the province hopes all Manitobans will learn about how to better protect their families and communities during an emergency.

“Our government is committed to protecting Manitobans and our Emergency Measures Organization (EMO) works diligently to do just that,” said infrastructure minister Ron Schuler. “From disaster management to overall preparedness and response and recovery, the role of the department is to support areas of government in responding to large-scale emergencies. Through the leadership and co-ordination of EMO, we have complete confidence that our government is prepared to respond to any emergency to ensure the safety of all Manitobans."

This year, the theme is Emergency Preparedness: Be Ready for Anything. The intent of this theme is to encourage people to take action to become better prepared for the range of emergencies they could face.
