WINNIPEG - A group of Manitoba doctors is urging the province to slow down its reopening plan.
The 11 physicians want to see COVID-19 numbers drop much further before public health orders are eased at all.
They say public health officials aren't taking into account the new delta variant which was first identified in India. It's more transmissible and deadlier.
The Pallister government says we are on target to loosen restrictions on July 1st, as long as vaccination targets are met.
Manitoba's deputy chief public health officer says the reopening plan will be finalized next week.
Dr. Jazz Atwal says he's only expecting minor changes to current COVID rules.
