Delaying 2nd Dose

Delaying 2nd Dose

WINNIPEG - The province is delaying second doses of the COVID-19 vaccines up to four months in an effort to get as many people as possible their first shot more quickly. Second doses already booked will go ahead.

According to Dr. Joss Reimer, medical lead on the Manitoba Vaccine Task Force, all three of the approved vaccines are providing significant protection after just one jab in the arm.

She says the AstraZeneca vaccine should be here by mid-March and it will be used on people between 50 and 64 years old because it's not recommended for those 65 and older.
