COVID Delays Recovery

WINNIPEG - Manitoba's increase in COVID-19 cases is expected to delay the province's economic recovery.

The Conference Board of Canada's new outlook says Manitoba's gross domestic product should fall by 6.2 per cent this year.

The CBC figures the GDP will grow next year but not by as much as the national number. 3.5 per cent growth is predicted here, compared to 5.6 per cent nationally.

Our province currently has the highest per-capita coronavirus infection rate in the country.
