WINNIPEG - The province will no longer require close contacts of COVID-19 cases at childcare centres to be notified.
Manitoba says the change, similar to one made at schools recently, is being made because Omicron is spreading so quickly.
Provincial chief public health officer Dr. Brent Roussin says single case and contact management is just not effective because the variant is so infectious and has such a short incubation period.
Children and staff exposed to a case of COVID will be allowed keep attending their centre as long as they have no symptoms.
