COVID-19 Restrictions Tighten In Manitoba

Restrictions Tighten Again

WINNIPEG - The Manitoba government will require all provincial employees who work with vulnerable people to be fully immunized against COVID-19 by October 31st. If not, they will need to be tested regularly, up to three times a week.

The list of workers includes those in health care, education and justice.

Employees who haven't been vaccinated at all yet but need full immunization by the end of October will have to have their first dose scheduled for no later than September 7th.

The province is also bringing back mandatory masks for indoor public settings, including in schools.

The list of activities and services that can only be accessed by fully vaccinated individuals will be expanded and released to the public by the end of the week.

“These steps are necessary to protect children in Manitoba, avoid another lockdown, and keep our health care system safe from a fourth wave of COVID and the dangerous delta variant,” said Premier Brian Pallister.
