WINNIPEG - A church that's accused of repeatedly violating COVID-19 rules might be fined as much as $1 million.
The Church of God Restoration near Steinbach has been ticketed and fined a number of times for holding in-person services when public health orders didn't allow for them.
The matter goes to court now where a judge will decide the proper penalty.
Meanwhile, the province says COVID enforcement over the past week saw 131 tickets issued. Most of them were for gatherings.
