WINNIPEG - The province is resisting calls to re-introduce a mask mandate as a spike in respiratory viruses, especially in kids, is expected to get worse.
Some health care workers say without a mandate, the system they work in will be strained even further.
Dr. Doug Eyolfson, who works at Winnipeg’s Grace Hospital, says he’s concerned Manitoba will soon be like Ontario where pediatric intensive care units are beyond maximum capacity.
Premier Heather Stefanson has said she has no immediate plan to bring back masks.
